Folk remedies

Type 2 diabetes requires control of blood sugar levels, and some home remedies may help in addition to primary treatment. However, it is important to consult your doctor before using them.

1. Herbs and plants

  • Cinnamon – improves insulin sensitivity. Can be added to food (½–1 teaspoon per day).

  • Chicory – contains inulin, which slows down the absorption of glucose. Useful as a coffee replacement.

  • Blueberry leaves – the decoction reduces sugar levels (1 tablespoon per glass of boiling water, drink ½ glass 2 times a day).

  • Beans - decoction (20 g per 1 liter of water) helps regulate glucose.

2. Food

  • Jerusalem artichoke – contains inulin, useful in raw form or as an additive to dishes.

  • Buckwheat with kefir – infusion (2 tablespoons of buckwheat per glass of kefir at night) is consumed in the morning.

  • Flaxseed – rich in fiber and omega-3, stabilizes sugar (1-2 tsp per day).

3. Other methods

  • Apple cider vinegar – 1 tsp. a glass of water before meals can improve glucose metabolism.

  • Juice therapy – fresh juices from cucumber, tomatoes, celery (without sugar) in moderate quantities.

Important! Folk remedies do not replace medications, diet and sports. Before use, check your individual tolerance and monitor your sugar levels.
